Privacy Policy
Executive Puzzles doesn't know who you are, and it isn't trying to find out. The app runs entirely on your device.
Executive Puzzles is made by Demdio Technologies Inc ("we," "us"), and this policy explains how we handle information across the app.
What we collect
Anonymous, aggregate usage statistics only. Specifically:
- How often each puzzle type is played and completed
- Roughly how long puzzles take to solve, in broad time bands rather than exact durations
- Whether a hint was used in a puzzle, by puzzle type — never which puzzle or which hint
- Whether break reminders lead to the app being opened
- That someone has been through every item in a puzzle type's collection, such as every Cipher quotation, so we know when to add more
- How often the subscription screen is shown, and how often someone starts, backs out of, or completes a purchase or free trial there — counts only, never what was bought or by whom (Apple reports subscriptions to us as totals)
- Which puzzle is opened from the home screen, and whether the list had to be scrolled to reach it, so we can lay it out better
- For Facets, how a board went in rough bands: how many times pieces were turned or taken back, whether a gap came up, and how many pieces were placed if it was left unfinished — never which board or which pieces
- Which general settings people choose, such as how often reminders are set to appear
- Which app version and operating system version are in use
Each of these is sent as a standalone count — for example, "a Trace puzzle was completed" — with no field connecting it to any other event, from your device or anyone else's, past or future.
We use no device identifier, advertising identifier, account identifier, or installation identifier of any kind. This means we cannot tell how many individual people use the app, whether the same person opened it twice, or anything else about any specific device or session. We only ever see totals across everyone.
Crash reports
If the app crashes or freezes, it can send a short, anonymous crash report so we can find and fix the problem. A report describes the failure itself: which part of the app's code was running, the app version, the operating system version, and the device model.
Crash reports carry no name, email, account, device identifier, advertising identifier, or installation identifier, and no IP address is stored with them. They do not include screenshots, what was on your screen, your calendar, or anything you typed. We use them only to fix bugs.
What we don't collect
- Your name, email address, or any account information — there is no account
- Your location
- The contents of your calendar
- Any advertising or cross-app tracking identifier
- Anything that could identify you personally
The free puzzles on our website
The sample puzzles on premiumexecutivepuzzles.com (Cipher, Trace, Regions, Balance, Numbers, Bridges, Blocks, Mosaic, Facets and Tether) run entirely in your browser. They send nothing to us. If your browser allows it, the Cipher remembers your progress on today's quote on your own device, and nowhere else. The other samples remember nothing.
Calendar access
If you turn on calendar-aware reminders, the app reads your calendar's free and busy status on your device only, so it can suggest a break during a genuine gap in your schedule. This information is never transmitted, stored remotely, or logged. You can turn it off at any time in Settings, and the app works fully without it.
Your controls
Usage statistics and crash reports
Settings includes a switch to turn off all anonymous usage reporting and crash reports together. Nothing we send is tied to you, but the choice is yours to make.
Reminders
Adjust how often reminders appear, or turn them off entirely, in Settings.
Calendar
Grant or revoke calendar access at any time, either in the app's Settings or in your device's system settings.
Third parties
We use no third-party analytics tools and no advertising networks. Usage statistics go to a server we operate directly. Anonymous crash reports are processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), a crash-reporting service, on our behalf, and are used only to diagnose and fix bugs. We don't sell, rent, or share data with anyone else, because there is no individually identifying data to share.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment information. Apple's own privacy policy governs that part of the transaction.
Children's privacy
Executive Puzzles is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and note any material change in the app's release notes.
